Empowering Livelihoods: Honoring the Backbone of Our Society

The standard of living of the daily wage workers is curbed due to exploitation of their service, untimely payment or underpayment, unfavorable working conditions and so on. These people are essential in the development of our society as they provide the basic goods and services that maintain the society and even further build it. Ill treatment of these people is something we wish to eradicate, rather celebrate them for their work. There are two major types by which livelihood can be categorized:
  • Farm-Based:
  • This consists of the various rigorous and highly labor-intensive activities performed by the workers like Agriculture, Plantation, Fisheries and Tassar (Cocoon) It is well-known that agriculture and farming plays one of the important if not the most important role in societal development. Everyone is seen reaping its benefits except for our farmers who rarely are acknowledged for the tedious job. We will strive to identify the gaps and provide for creative solutions.

  • Non-Farm-SHG’s & Entrepreneurship:
  • These comprise of activities associated with wage work or self-employment that are not agricultural, but which generate income in rural areas. We will provide continuous support to these workers and help them raise their standard of living.
